This summer, we’ve ditched our normal island vacay, and opted for mountain travel instead.

It’s been so much fun switching things up and we’ve had the opportunity to see some beautiful places… with the latest destination being Banff.

If you’re looking for a place to vacation in the summer with beautiful mountain hikes, scenery galore, great dining, and loads of adventure… put Banff on your list. We loved it and I bet you might too! 😏

Fairview Lookout ≫ Lake Louise

If you’re wanting views like these and to escape the crowds a bit, take the short hike up to Fairview Lookout at Lake Louise.

It’s a short hike, only 1.4 miles round trip, but the steep hike seems to detour a lot of tourists. We enjoyed this lookout with just one other family on a very busy summer day at Lake Louise.

And yes, this is the real water color. No editing! Lake Louise gets its color from the glacial melt + rock particles 💦

wildflower hike ≫ banff 🌼

Are you looking for a wildflower hike in Banff? Then put Sunshine Meadows on your list!

We loved our day of hiking here, it was so unique! We began with a gondola ride up 3000 feet, and began our hike through the alpine meadows. The wildflowers were just amazing.

You can choose how far you’d like to go, but we hiked around 6 miles exploring the area.

Moraine Lake ~ dare I say, is even more beautiful in person 🇨🇦🏔️🛶

We just returned from Banff and the photos I’ve seen over the years, don’t quite do it justice. It’s breathtakingly beautiful! 😍

Moraine Lake is one of Banff’s most popular locations, so here are a couple tips to make the most of your visit:

✔️ Plan in advance. No cars are allowed, so you will need a shuttle ticket, which you can get through Parks Canada, Roam Transit, or there are several other private transportation companies to choose from. These sell out, so make plans well in advance.

✔️ Escape the crowds. I love destinations and places where you can escape the crowds, which is almost impossible in a popular location like Moraine Lake. My advice, when you arrive, JUST WALK. 🤣 People tend to gather near the entrance, and we found that as we walked along the lakeside trail the crowds seemed to dissipate.
