about wild true happy
Meet Shelly. An adventure travel blogger, writer, and storyteller behind Wild True Happy.
hi there
I’m Shelly, an adventure travel blogger who believes life is better with a little bit of adventure.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m not sure how you found me, but I’m a big believer that everything happens for a reason, and I’m so happy you’re here!
I love a good adventure, sunshine, outdoors, exploring off-the-beaten-path places, and making epic memories with the fam!
I believe life is better with a little bit of adventure. And the great news? Adventure looks a little different for all of us. You don’t have to skydive to be adventurous. Nor do you have to stay in a hostel or go backpacking. You have the freedom to choose what adventure means to you!
Stick around, and you’ll discover I’m passionate about living and dreaming bigger! From exploring new destinations to embracing an outdoorsy lifestyle, Wild True Happy is here to help you live life to the fullest!
my story
Why did I start this travel blog?
I first started “blogging” back in 2010. At the time, I had a tiny little social media management business that I was trying to grow. I had no intention of cold-calling prospective clients, so I decided to learn WordPress, start blogging, and show up online. And guess what- it worked.
My love of travel and the outdoors started early, thanks mainly to my parents. From cross-country road trips to Sunday afternoon hikes, we always seemed to be outdoors & exploring. Even when blogging about social media, I still dreamed of travel and outdoor adventures.
In 2019, I blended travel and blogging into a career as a communications director for a hotel group. Writing was once again part of my daily routine.
But something was missing. I missed the freedom-based lifestyle I once enjoyed as an entrepreneur. In 2022, I started Wild True Happy to focus on travel blogging and share inspo for living and dreaming bigger.
It took me a bit to get my sea legs, but today, I’m focused on growing my blog and learning more about SEO & monetization. I’m grateful to be able to do what I love each and every day. For the rest of the story… stay tuned!
