It’s a short hike, only 1.4 miles round trip, but the steep hike seems to detour a lot of tourists. We enjoyed this lookout with just one other family on a very busy summer day at Lake Louise. And yes, this is the real water color. No editing! We loved our day of hiking here, it was so unique! We began with a gondola ride up 3000 feet, and began our hike through the alpine meadows. The wildflowers were just amazing. Moraine Lake ~ dare I say, is even more beautiful Moraine Lake ~ dare I say, is even more beautiful in person 🇨🇦🏔️🛶 We just returned from Banff and the photos I’ve seen over the years, don’t quite do it justice. It’s breathtakingly beautiful! 😍 Moraine Lake is one of Banff’s most popular locations, so here are a couple tips to make the most of your visit: ✔️ Plan in advance. No cars are allowed, so you will need a shuttle ticket, which you can get through Parks Canada, Roam Transit, or there are several other private transportation companies to choose from. These sell out, so make plans well in advance. ✔️ Escape the crowds. I love destinations and places where you can escape the crowds, which is almost impossible in a popular location like Moraine Lake. My advice, when you arrive, JUST WALK. 🤣 People tend to gather near the entrance, and we found that as we walked along the lakeside trail the crowds seemed to dissipate.
